AMX is trying to shave some time (and effort) off the usual automation install. The company just announced Rapid Project Maker (RPM), a cloud-based application that makes the installation process a lot easier for installers.
First of all, the app uses a step-by-step wizard-based approach. Also, it’s designed to help throughout the entire project, from start to finish. Absolutely no programming is required, meaning that installers can configure a great room experience, complete with touchpanel user interface pages and system installation instructions.
For example, AMX says that an integrated conference room can be configured with an AMX Controller, a videoconferencing system, DVD player, display and a laptop—all in less than an hour.
Besides simplifying single-room deployments, RPM also automatically adjusts to the technology and functionality selected each time a project is configured. Also, because it’s cloud-based, installers can access the project from almost anywhere.
“RPM is a feature rich tool that enables system programmers with little or no AMX programming experience to implement control solutions for meeting rooms, teaching spaces and lecture/presentation venues,” said Robert Noble, AMX’s CTO. “It also functions as a time saving tool for seasoned designers who need to rapidly design and deploy solutions.”
