Lots to learn: new products, educational offerings, learning from manufacturers — put your thinking caps on at this year’s InfoComm, June 9-15.

  n the commercial aspect of the business,” says Jim Carroll, executive vice president of Savant. “This year at InfoComm, we hired out a conference room space on the floor and we lined up a tremendous amount of meetings with industry folks, specifiers, manufacturers and attendees. It’s an introductory for who Savant is. In the commercial integrator space, we may be the best kept secret in the industry.”

Logic Integration of Lone Tree, CO, is bringing five of its employees to InfoComm to each take two or three classes on anything from government facilities to commercial to broadcast to the latest and greatest in project management and installation. “We’re taking a wide array of courses and I’m looking forward to it,” says Bill Craig, vice president, Business Development at Logic Integration, Inc.

Trends

Two or three years ago, the big thing at InfoComm was 3D. Last year, it was smart TV and displays that were app-based or Web-based content. “This year it’s touch-capable LCD or LED displays,” says Craig from Logic Integration. “More and more of our customers are using displays in boardrooms instead of the traditional projector.” Craig’s customers request the LCD
