We’ve seen NEC displays put to entertaining use as video walls. Now, the company is making sure there are virtually no limits to how big your display can be with its latest model, the V651.

The LCD display is a full 1080p HD panel that measures 65 diagonal inches, delivering reported brightness of 400 cd/m2 and contrast ratio of 5,000:1.

For your video wall installations, NEC worked to simplify the setups by including an expansion slot that supports the Open Pluggable Specification (OPS), as well as I/Os for DisplayPort, HDMI and DVI-D.

The V651 also supports remote diagnostics and third-party control via RS-232C, RJ45 LAN, IR Remote and DDC/CI, and the TileMatrixT technology covers up to 100 displays for your mega-wall design.

NEC offers optional accessories including stands, wall mounts, external PCs and media players that are all compatible with the V651. If you want to add in sound, the model also includes built-in 10-watt speakers.

Available with a three-year parts and labor warranty, the V651 also shows NEC’s green thinking of both the eco and wallet variety — it includes a carbon footprint meter that tracks and calculates the conservation of green gas emissions and the company notes. The estimated street price tag of $5,299 should be friendly to your bottom line.
